Ukraine hits oil depot and Russia strikes homes near Black Sea

A massive oil depot fire rages near Sochi, Russia, blamed on a Ukrainian drone attack, suspending flights at Sochi’s airport.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported drone debris hit a fuel tank, with 127 firefighters battling the blaze. Concurrently, a Russian missile strike in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, injured seven civilians, damaging homes and infrastructure.

Ukraine’s air force reported Russia launched 83 drones and seven missiles overnight, downing 61. Russia’s defense ministry claimed it intercepted 93 Ukrainian drones. After a deadly week, including a Kyiv attack killing 31, President Zelensky urged stronger sanctions.

US President Trump condemned Russia, hinting at new sanctions and setting an August 8 deadline for Putin to end the war.
